Boulder is known for its breweries, sure, but where’s a hungry traveler to go when they want a great bite to eat? After you’ve enjoyed all of the region’s fantastic outdoor activities (and, trust us, there’s something to do every season of the year), here’s where to go to fuel up, no matter what you’re craving.
1.The Corner
The Corner is your friendly neighborhood cafe, with award-winning eats and a great menu of local drinks. Breakfast is served all day, so you can enjoy your bagel sandwich no matter how late you wake up. At lunchtime, the restaurant’s signature bowls are not to be missed and come in a build-your-own style, where you pick the protein, grain, veggies and sauce for a healthful meal that’s just the thing to fuel your adventures.
2.The Waffle Lab
If your favorite breakfast food — or anytime food, really — is always going to be waffles, head to The Waffle Lab, for sweat and savory Belgian-style liege waffles. This fantastic eatery is serving up waffles every way you can imagine, far beyond just alongside a serving of fried chicken. Get a grilled cheese sandwich with the bread swapped out for waffles. Or order a BLT with the bread swapped out for — you guessed it — waffles. Get your waffle topped with a bratwurst, or a burger. If you can think it, you’ll probably find it with a waffle, at The Waffle Lab.
3. The Sink
Proudly claiming its spot as Boulder’s oldest restaurant, The Sink opened its doors in 1923. A college-kid favorite, but also a staple on the Boulder dining scene for everyone, The Sink offers an expansive menu filled with burgers, pizza and multiple types of mac ’n cheese.
4.Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery
Mountain Sun may be a brewery first, but it also offers a pretty delectable menu of pub food. Think fries and nachos, build-your-own grilled cheese sandwiches, burritos, quesadillas and more. If you want to give the restaurant a try, but you’re not in Boulder long, don’t worry — there are five total regional restaurants under the Mountain Sun umbrella.
5.Avanti F&B Boulder
Avanti F&B offers a truly unique experience. Across a rooftop setting, this dining venue brings together more than half a dozen culinary concepts and two bars for meals that take inspiration from European markets and food truck festivals. You get tons of options, can try different foods from different vendors, and everyone in your traveling party can find something they’ll love, without an argument over where to eat dinner that day. One vendor offers pizza, another serves Middle Eastern-inspired food, another specializes in arepas, while still another focuses on Jewish cuisine — and that just scratches the surface.
