Cape May, New Jersey, is one of the oldest and most iconic beach resort towns on the East Coast. A favorite vacation spot for centuries, it's filled with historic sites, Victorian homes and, of course, lots of beach-y fun. Families from all over the region flock to the area each year for sun soaking, swimming, shopping and, yes, dining, too.
The destination offers plenty of restaurants to pick from, whether you're in the mood for a laid-back seafood shack-type experience or you're planning a date night and want to go somewhere special. Here are a few of our favorite options.
Beach Plum Farm Kitchen is a rustic eatery, but also also a market and 62-acre working farm.
While the farm provides lots of produce and products to the area restaurants, you can taste these farm-fresh ingredients right at the source, with a visit to the kitchen, which has received rave reviews. The ever-changing menu is based on the season and what’s available from the fields on any given day, but expect a casual selection of sandwiches, salads and appetizers.

If you're looking for something right on the water, you have to go to Lucky Bones Back Water Grille.
The restaurant is partly a pizzeria and partly a bar, with a casual atmosphere that'll still appeal to date-night couples. The menu includes a large selection of brick oven pizzas, made Naples-style, as well as sandwiches, salads and seafood-heavy entrees.

Exit Zero Filling Station is a super-unique eatery that’s also a retail store and a magazine publisher.
Yep, you read that right. Even if you're not interested in the latter two endeavors, you'll still want to check out the restaurant, which is famous for its curries, burgers and sandwiches.

Tisha’s Fine Dining is a long-standing spot for more formal affairs
The eatery serves up a sophisticated dining experience for both breakfast and lunch, indoors and out. The limited menu leans a little more toward a steakhouse vibe, but with plenty of seafood options, such as the scallop risotto, and the pepper shrimp and crab cake served over mashed potatoes and baby spinach.

If you're craving some fresh, light and oh-so-good for you, try Good Earth Organic Eatery
As the sign says, everything is organic. You'll find a range of options on the menu, both vegan and otherwise, plus farm-fresh ingredients, local seafood and homemade breads.
