Along Cape Cod, Falmouth, Mashpee and Woods Hole welcome travelers with their historic charm and seaside settings. Visitors discover lots to love, from the local dining scenes to shopping, beach-going to taking in the arts and culture. However, before you can experience all of this for yourself, you have to find the perfect place to stay for the duration of your trip.
Here are four of our favorite options.
1. Sea Crest Beach Hotel
Sea Crest Beach Hotel provides the perfect seaside location and light, airy and modern guest rooms. Take up a spot on the sand, beneath one of the hotel’s bright orange beach umbrellas, or hang out by the pool overlooking the surf. The laid-back property is a favorite with families and, among the more than 250 guest rooms, you’ll find amenities like fireplaces, ocean views and more. The beach is private, which just adds to the experience. In addition to the outdoor saline pool, there’s also an indoor pool and a baby pool.
2. The Inn on the Square
If you’d like something with more of a downtown setting, though, try the Inn on the Square. With its Colonial style, it welcomes visitors to a superb location that puts you within walking distance of attractions and dining. Plus, you’re only about a mile away from the ferry service and less than half a mile away from the Shining Sea Bikeway. Amenities include a sun deck, indoor pool, private courtyard and on-site dining.
3. The Coonamessett
This modern and hip property is Instagram-ready for all of the stylish travelers who find their way to Falmouth. The maritime-inspired décor incorporates iron-frame beds, white-washed floors, shiplap and other thoughtful touches. Book a suite for extra space and luxury. Some suites are even dog-friendly. Make sure to also grab a bite to eat at the on-site restaurant, Eli’s Tavern, where you’ll find classic New England eats and drinks in a laid-back setting that, just like the rest of the property, is as stylish as it gets.
4. Inn on the Sound
If you prefer a bed and breakfast atmosphere, try Inn on the Sound. With its oceanfront setting, the property offers a variety of different room types, all with a healthy helping of Cape Cod style. There are 12 guest rooms to pick from, so make sure you book yours fast, if you have an upcoming trip planned. Breakfast is included in your stay and, each afternoon, you’ll find a selection of pick-me-up treats available.
