Ocean City, MD, and neighboring Bethany Beach, DE, offer more sunshine-drenched beach and water activities than you could experience in a dozen trips. While soaking up the sun and hitting the water are most likely on your itinerary, there is a lot of fun away from the water in Ocean City.
Read on to discover six exciting and adventurous things to do that will make this visit one you'll never forget.
1. Beat the Heat With Indoor Games
This one's great for the kids, though any member of your group will love it too. Sure the sunshine and water feel incredible, but when you need a break from the rays, head inside Alley Oops to enjoy cool and refreshing conditioned air. And while you're there, treat yourself and your kiddos to mini bowling and other indoor games where you win tickets to claim prizes. If you work up an appetite from all the smiling and laughter, check out their menu of upscale beach dining options.

2. Grab Some Wheels at Big Jim's
Cruising the wooden Ocean City boardwalk is an awesome rite of passage. What better way to take in all of the sights and sounds than on a bike or scooter from Big Jim's Bikes & Scooters? With three convenient locations along the boardwalk, you'll have no trouble finding the right bike or scooter for your needs. Among the wheels available: men's and women's bikes, bikes with kid's seats, various trikes and tandem bikes, smalls and large surreys, and mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and beach wheelchairs.

3. Hit the Links
If you're itching to get back on the links while on vacation, make your way to Assateague Greens Golf Center in nearby Berlin. There you'll find picturesque views, golf for players of all skill levels, and an overall great time. This 18 hole executive golf course runs 1,285 yards. The course is well-maintained, and the staff is more than willing to offer thoughtful tips to keep you under par.
4. Why Not Try Some Paintball?
The best getaways tend to be unforgettable; so does a paintball excursion. Combine these two for an action-packed day at the family-owned and operated OC Paintball and Sports Center. You can play with others or bring a group. With numerous themed paintball fields, including dense, dark woods and another inspired by WWII, OC Paintball is ideal for birthdays and other parties, team building days, charity events, and more.

5. Or Axe Throwing!
Why not try something a bit different this vacation with axe throwing at the House of Axe? This cool spot is a “small but mighty family owned business” where you can let the stress melt from your shoulders while hurling axes at wooden targets.

6. Frontier Town
The whole family will have a blast at Frontier Town, a circa 1880 replica western town featuring Wild West Shows starring the Texas Trick Riders. Witness an Old West street gunfight, go panning for gold, or hit up the Water Park & Mini-Golf portion. Frontier Town has fun western gift shops and great eateries throughout town. Yee haw!
